ISTE Certification – Online Cohort #0822 (August 2022-May 2023)
ISTE Certification for Educators is the only vendor-neutral, internationally recognized credential for educators who have demonstrated mastery of the ISTE Standards for Educators. ISTE Certification focuses on pedagogy, not on tools or devices, and is designed to change your educational practice, whether you’re an instructional designer, library media specialist, technology coach or in another role. The program combines 14 weeks of professional learning with a six-month portfolio application and review process, and recipients can apply to receive up to four graduate-level credits for their participation. Is it rigorous? Yes. Is it worth it? Yes!
Event Details
Phase 1: Complete the Online Course
- 14 weeks
- Five 2-hour synchronous meetings (attendance required)

- 7:00 - 9:00 pm Eastern/4:00 - 6:00 pm Pacific
- 2 weeks in between each session
- All sessions are on Tuesdays
- 5 hour commitment per week on average to complete assignments

- Pre-work: August 11 - September 1, 2022 (three weeks)
- Synchronous Session #1: September 1, 2022
- Empowered Educator
- Synchronous Session #2: September 15, 2022
- Designing a Learning Experience
- Synchronous Session #3: September 29, 2022
- Creating Equity in Digital Learning Environments
- Synchronous Session #4: October 13, 2022
- Redesigning Learning and Instruction
- Synchronous Session #5: October 27, 2022
- ISTE Standards for Educators in Practice
- Post-work: October 27 - November 17, 2022 (three weeks)
Phase 2: Build Your Portfolio
- 6 months (maximum)
- Independent work, no facilitated sessions
- Eduscape Office Hours 2nd Tuesday of every month
- 6:00 - 7:00 pm Eastern/3:00 - 4:00 Pacific
- Portfolio evaluated by ISTE
December 2022 - May 2023
- May 31, 2023: Portfolio due
*Note: The Portfolio phase is set for 6 months. Participants are allowed (and encouraged) to submit as soon as they can after they have successfully completed Phase 1.
