Rethink learning with Eduscape, the only privately-held ISTE Certification Authorized Provider.

Two-Phase Certification Program
ISTE has updated the Certified Educator program, it is fully online and now consists of two phases. Participants must complete both phases in order to earn their certification. Certification is open to all educators—teachers, curriculum coaches, library media specialists, principals etc. Certification is valid for three years.
Phase 1:
Complete Online Course
(14 weeks)
The course is hosted in Brightspace, ISTE’s LMS. Participants have two weeks from when the course opens to complete the assigned pre-work. Participants then attend five two-hour synchronous Zoom sessions. Synchronous sessions are scheduled two weeks apart and full attendance is required for all sessions. There are three weeks between the final synchronous session and the course end date, when all work must be submitted. Participants must earn an 80% in the course overall in order to move to the portfolio phase.
Participants post in discussion boards and complete other activities as assigned. Participants can plan to spend 5 hours per week on average completing the activities.
The course is facilitated by Eduscape instructors who have earned their ISTE Certified Educator badge and have received additional training from ISTE to be qualified as ISTE Certified Trainers.
Phase 2:
Build Your Portfolio
(6 months)
Participants submit artifacts as evidence of competency for 24 criteria and also a personal reflection. Participants are provided with an Alignment Map template to complete, as well as an Applicant Guide, Criteria Guidelines, and artifact exemplars. Participants have six months to complete the portfolio, but are strongly encouraged to complete it as soon as possible after completion of the online course. Participants pass this phase and earn their ISTE Certified Educator status by earning 20 out of 25 total points. Portfolios are evaluated by ISTE staff.
I am so thankful for the skills, knowledge and experience I have gained through the ISTE certification course taught by you and this certification process. It has helped me to assist students and other teachers to get through this particularly difficult transition to Remote Learning here in NYC.

Ready for ISTE Certification?

To be successful in this program we believe it is important to consider these questions.
Recognized by ISTE, valued by leaders.
The ISTE Standards define a new skill set that empowers educators to rethink and redesign learning with technology. ISTE recognizes individuals who can demonstrate and apply the standards, earning the distinction of an ISTE Certified Educator.
Demonstrate Initiative, Drive, and Skill
Leaders are looking for those with a growth mindset to adapt, thrive and lead learning with technology in their schools and districts. Earning the ISTE Certification demonstrates to leaders and colleagues those who have the initiative, drive and skills needed to transform, personalize and empower learning in the classroom and school.
Based on globally recognized standards.
States, districts and schools are using the ISTE Standards as their framework for digital learning because the standards are based on research, were built by educators, for educators, and help prepare students for success in a digital world.
Educator preparation programs are using the ISTE Standards to graduate the next generation of teachers capable of using technology purposefully for learning.
Pedagogy first, technology second.
Unlike certifications from the private sector, the ISTE Certification for Educators is vendor neutral, so the skills developed will be transferable to any system, device, or tool.
While technology opens up a whole new world of opportunities for learning, ISTE Certification for Educators focuses on changing practice and improving learning outcomes with technology.
