Remote Learning Tool to be Provided to Support Student Wellbeing at No Cost

MONTVALE, New Jersey –  Eduscape, one of North America’s leading K-12 professional learning organizations focused on innovation in education, and partner School Day today announced the launch of School Day @Home, the remote version of its student well-being application, which has been used by hundreds of schools and over 30,000 students. Eduscape will offer @Home at no cost, and also integrate it into its recently launched remote SCHOOLWORKS program for Google Classroom, Microsoft Teams and leading Learning Management Systems.

“Since the COVID-19 pandemic forced the cancellation of thousands of schools globally, our team has worked tirelessly to bring School Day @Home to market.” said Mika Kasanen, Founder and CEO of Helsinki, Finland based School Day. “We are proud to offer teachers the ability to assess their students’ well-being at no cost during these times of remote schooling.”

“The transition to remote teaching has happened literally overnight for teachers and school leaders, which has caused a lot of anxiety and stress. Students are also faced with their own adjustments as they manage through the expectations placed on them as remote, full-time learners. School Day @Home is the right tool during this challenging time; it gives teachers a window into their students’ wellbeing during a time when digital communication and perhaps the occasional video conference does not provide enough insight into their social emotional state,” stated Alex Urrea, Managing Partner and Founder

School Day @Home covers the following domains critical to a student’s social emotional learning:

  • Learning
  • Social Relationships
  • Wellbeing
  • Social and Emotional Skills

It provides a tool for teachers to conduct social-emotional touchpoints with students and assess their wellbeing as they work remotely. Students answer a few questions about their wellbeing and emotions daily, taking about 30 seconds. The School Day App can be used to share information about wellbeing-related topics. Teachers get real-time analytics from School Day Insights, starting from key indicators they can check into specific areas and into individual questions asked by students.

As teachers make a sudden adjustment to remote teaching; and their students transition to learning from home full-time, assessing their social emotional level becomes much more challenging. The added anxiety caused by this new paradigm of teaching and learning can impact the students’ success if not properly monitored. The School Day @Home application gives teachers a research-based tool to measure students’ wellbeing remotely.

“We are proud to bring School Day @Home at no cost to teachers during this time. It is a wonderful company that really believes in its mission.” stated Urrea.
