Vincent R. De Lucia - Building a Supportive Future: Communities Collaborating to Enhance the Emotional Health of Children

We know that it truly "takes a village" including partnerships among families, schools, local municipal government, and entities whose clients are kids to ensure that we are creating communities that are healthy for kids of all ages. But, the challenge is "How?" How can parents, adults who work with kids, local businesses that cater to kids like gaming & sports facilities, convenience and fast food establishments, and neighborhoods contribute to the emotional and mental health of all kids? What collaborative efforts among families, school districts, local government, local businesses, the spiritual community, service organizations, law enforcement, and others can contribute to the well being of our youth? In this seminar we will discuss the collaborative structures and strategies that can facilitate that support including the Search Institute's 40 Developmental Assets that research reports contributes to the well being of our children that includes healthy decision making and the formation of community alliances that support all kids.
