Josephine Hunt is an experienced educator and aspiring administrator, currently in the final stages of completing her second Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership. With more than 17 years of teaching experience, she has dedicated much of her career to serving as an Integrated Preschool Teacher at Closter Public Schools, where early learning and child development remain at the heart of her work.

A certified special education teacher, teacher leader, and NVCC mentor and coach, Josephine brings a wealth of expertise in instructional practice, professional learning, and supporting both students and educators. Her leadership has been shaped by a deep commitment to social-emotional wellness, equity, and fostering resilient learners.

Josephine is especially passionate about addressing the rising challenges of student anxiety and technology overuse. Long before these issues were widely discussed, she advocated for children to experience authentic learning and connection beyond screens. Along with her colleague Charlene Gerbig, she has worked to spotlight the root causes of student stress and to help guide communities in “freeing the anxious generation.”

Through her workshops and presentations, Josephine empowers educators and families to create nurturing, balanced environments where children can thrive both academically and emotionally.
