Donna Reichman, M. Ed - Supporting the Whole Child: Meeting the Mental Health and Academic Needs of Gifted and Talented Learners within an MTSS Framework
Gifted and talented students often excel academically yet face unique social-emotional and mental health challenges that can impact their overall well-being and school success. This session explores how districts can identify these needs early and integrate targeted supports within an MTSS framework. Participants will learn strategies for using data to inform interventions, fostering collaboration among educators, mental health professionals, and families, and ensuring equitable access to resources across all tiers. Emphasis will be placed on responsive interventions that promote resilience, healthy socialization, and the skills necessary for gifted learners to thrive both academically and emotionally.
